Katie’s work in schools as a teacher and teacher educator has given her access to resources and ideas of ways to support children to develop critical literacy skills. Her experience as a Parent Support Specialist and community organizer has helped her develop ideas of how to support neighborhood schools in bringing community members together to advocate for their success. She will use this space to periodically post resources for parents that may help them to empower even young children as agents of change and to find meaningful ways to support their children’s schools.
